Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Tuesday a travel ban to the Republic of Mali.

The ministry said in its statement: Due to the current events in the Republic of Mali, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs prohibits UAE citizens from traveling to Bamako.

Caution

It also calls on citizens who are there to leave and return to the country as soon as possible.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed the importance of adhering

to the instructions and warnings issued by it,

and taking the highest levels of caution and vigilance.

The ministry urged citizens in Mali to contact them.

This is done through the number designated for citizens of the country abroad

in case of emergencies and crises, which is available around the clock.

Security tensions in Mali

The capital, Bamako, is currently experiencing security

and political tensions due to the ongoing conflict

with armed extremist groups.

Such as the Al-Qaeda-linked group,

Jama’at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin,

Which has significantly intensified its attacks

against the armed forces and civilians, especially since mid-2025.
