Abu Dhabi, UAE – Today, on the sidelines of the Bridge Summit 2025, the Emirates Media Council signed a memorandum of understanding with the Department of Tourism, Culture and Information in Ajman.

It aims to enhance joint cooperation in developing and organizing the media sector in the emirate.

In line with the Media Regulation Law and its executive regulations and the UAE’s national directions in building a modern and advanced media environment that meets the needs of customers and keeps pace with the rapid developments of the times.

This memorandum comes within the framework of the two sides’ keenness to unify efforts and develop mechanisms for providing media services.

In addition to ensuring the provision of high-quality services to customers, through clear and integrated procedures that enhance the efficiency of media work in the emirate.

It also aims to coordinate powers between federal and local authorities in accordance with approved legal frameworks.

This makes it easier for media institutions and workers in the sector to complete their transactions in a clear and smooth manner.

The memorandum includes cooperation in preparing unified regulatory mechanisms for a number of media services.

In addition to coordinating the process of transferring some of the tasks of providing some services from the Emirates Media Council to the Department of Tourism, Culture and Information in Ajman in a gradual and organized manner.

To ensure continuity and quality of service.

It also includes preparing joint media plans to raise awareness of new services and the channels for providing them.

In a way that enhances awareness and ensures easy access of information to the public and media institutions.

Cooperation in media censorship

It also provides for enhanced cooperation in the areas of media oversight and data exchange, and the development of technical manuals and systems related to media licensing and supervision.

In addition to cooperation in developing national cadres, which raises the level of media competencies working in the emirate.

The two parties stressed that signing the memorandum represents an important step towards consolidating the institutional partnership and enhancing integrated work in developing the media system.

In addition to supporting digital transformation efforts and unifying initiatives aimed at improving the quality of media content.

This contributes to building a more flexible and organized media environment, and reflects the UAE’s vision of establishing responsible and innovative media.

In addition to strengthening its position as a leading destination in developing an advanced media sector based on transparency, efficiency and creativity.
