Dubai, United Arab Emirates – The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, in collaboration with Airbus, organized a networking session for the Executive Committee on Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) and Low Carbon Aviation Fuels (LCAF).
This is on the sidelines of the Dubai Airshow 2025.
With the participation of His Excellency Eng. Sherif Al-Ulama, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Energy and Petroleum Affairs, and Gabriel Simels, President of Airbus Africa and the Middle East.
The session brought together representatives from government agencies, regulatory bodies, airlines, fuel suppliers, and sector partners.
With the aim of consolidating cooperation and coordinating national efforts to accelerate the adoption of sustainable, low-carbon fuels.
To support the UAE’s journey in developing a more efficient and sustainable aviation sector.

Emirates.. Partnership approach
Engineer Sherif Al Ulama stressed that the UAE continues to enhance its role in leading the future of the global aviation sector.
By adopting clear paths to achieve climate neutrality and increase the participation of sustainable fuels in the air transport system.
He said: “This meeting reflects the UAE’s approach based on partnerships, by bringing together the public and private sectors to enhance the availability of sustainable fuels and support long-term low-carbon fuel solutions. We hope that all partners will come out with greater consensus and a clearer vision for the next steps to support the country’s ambitions in this field.”
He pointed out that the extended partnership with Airbus represents a pivotal element in the country’s efforts to accelerate the development of advanced fuel technologies and enhance the UAE’s position as a global center for low-carbon fuels, green hydrogen and clean energy industries.
For his part, Gabriel Simels praised the UAE’s pioneering role in innovation and developing the sustainable aviation sector.
He stressed that the cooperation between the two sides reflects a shared conviction of the importance of unified action to enable the transition towards low-emission aviation fuels.

He said: “We are proud of our partnership with the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, and of the vision that contributed to strengthening joint efforts towards a more sustainable aviation system”. Through continued cooperation, we will continue to develop practical solutions that contribute to building a cleaner and more innovative future for the aviation sector globally.
This event is part of a series of national initiatives aimed at enhancing the UAE’s readiness to adopt sustainable aviation fuel.
In addition to supporting clean energy solutions in line with its strategic orientations towards achieving climate neutrality and enhancing the competitiveness of the aviation sector at the global level.
