ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon wins bronze award at Leaders Summit in London

ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon wins bronze award at Leaders Summit in London

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – The Abu Dhabi Sports Council announced that the sixth edition of the ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon 2024 won the bronze award in the category of “Best Audience Interaction Initiative”.

This was during the World Sports Leadership Conference (Leaders), which was held in the British capital, London.

The Council confirmed in a statement that receiving the award came in recognition of the great success achieved by the event in developing the audience experience and enhancing community interaction.

Reflecting its status as one of the most prominent running races in the region and the world.

Since its inception, the marathon has been organized annually by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council in cooperation with ADNOC.

It has become one of the most prominent sporting events in the capital and the most attractive to participants from inside and outside the country.

The 2024 edition witnessed the participation of more than 33,000 male and female runners from all over the world.

Among them are an elite group of professional, amateur and family runners, in various races to suit all levels, from full marathons to entertainment and family races.

The last edition was based on the concepts of inclusiveness, innovation and sustainability.

The marathon presented qualitative initiatives in reducing plastic waste, managing environmental sustainability, and monitoring the carbon footprint.

In addition to community programs in schools and interactive campaigns via social media.

Talal Mustafa Al Hashemi, Executive Director of the Events Sector at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, stressed that winning this international award represents a new achievement for sports in Abu Dhabi.

He expressed his pride in the ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon receiving the award during the Sports Leadership Conference.

This was the culmination of joint efforts between the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, our partners at ADNOC, and all supporting entities.

He pointed out that this achievement reflects the continued commitment to providing a pioneering sports experience that puts everyone at the heart of the event, and combines outstanding sports performance, community participation, and sustainability.
