Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Dubai Municipality participated in the second edition of the “Al Fareej Fridge” humanitarian community campaign, launched by “Farjan Dubai” with support from the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation and in cooperation with the UAE Water Aid Foundation and the UAE Food Bank. The campaign aims to distribute two million bottles of water, juices, and ice cream to workers in Dubai, to mitigate the effects of high temperatures during the summer and enhance their safety at work sites.
In the presence of His Excellency Eng. Marwan bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, the municipality team participated in distributing bottles of water, juices, and ice cream to the workers. This is in line with the significant role Dubai Municipality plays in supporting distinguished community initiatives that reflect the spirit of solidarity and human cohesion that characterizes Emirati society.
Motivating initiative
His Excellency Engineer Marwan bin Ghalita emphasized that the “Al Fareej Fridge” humanitarian community campaign is an inspiring initiative, given its strategic objectives of instilling values of compassion, solidarity, and unified efforts. It provides a stimulating model for mobilizing community participation, including individuals and institutions, to support workers during this summer season, and to convey a message of thanks and appreciation from the community for their development efforts.
His Excellency said: “We are pleased to participate in this campaign, which stems from the authentic values that characterize the UAE. It also contributes effectively to mobilizing efforts to support workers who exert significant efforts across various workplaces during the summer months. This stems from the UAE’s commitment to appreciating them and its belief in their significant role in contributing to development and prosperity, as well as their continuous contributions.
He said that supporting this campaign to ensure the achievement of its humanitarian goals, in addition to what it confirms of the uniqueness of the UAE model of cooperation and solidarity, and the partnership between various governmental, civil and private entities to support community initiatives, also works to consolidate Dubai’s position as a global city that embraces humanity in all its forms. He stressed Dubai Municipality’s commitment to supporting community initiatives in a way that enhances their ability to achieve their goals and gives them greater momentum to advance their objectives in the future. Through this support, we aim to provide a clear example of the importance of social responsibility and commitment to supporting qualitative initiatives, which stimulates more giving and encourages continued efforts in larger and more comprehensive initiatives.

The campaign embodies Farjan Dubai’s efforts to strengthen the commitment of residents of Dubai’s residential neighborhoods to their social responsibility, particularly towards workers, in appreciation of their efforts and dedication to their work. Farjan Dubai is a social enterprise that seeks to empower local communities in Dubai’s residential neighborhoods and enhance communication and trust between them and government and private institutions by stimulating the spirit of volunteering and community contribution to create a social movement that improves quality of life and promotes positive behaviors and values in society.
