Dubai, United Arab Emirates – In the Tatra Mountains, where peaks embrace the clouds and forests whisper their secrets, an unexpected story unfolds. It’s the story of a charming Polish town called Zakopane, which has silently and surprisingly transformed into a favorite destination and summer retreat for thousands of tourists from the Arabian Gulf countries.

Saudi photographer Fahad Al-Ayash stands in amazement before an incredible scene. Dozens of Gulf families, in their traditional attire, fill Mount Gubalowka, a mountain once known for its Polish skiers. “We completely took over,” Fahad says with a smile.

Today, thanks to flydubai’s seven daily flights, Zakopane has become a major tourist destination. According to the Polish Ministry of Tourism, the number of Emirati tourists increased by 66% last year alone.

It wasn’t traditional media outlets that led this wave, but rather curiosity and social media. Manal Al-Anzi, a Saudi professor, discovered Zakopane through the X platform. She recalls with amazement her brother’s reaction.

Kuwaiti captain Abdullah Al-Otaibi was drawn to the safety he found in the city. He says, “I saw tweets about Zakopane and how it treats everyone equally.

This sense of security, combined with the ideal climate, has made Zakopane a haven for those escaping the scorching Gulf summer.

Restaurants in Zakopane now offer a halal menu and have certificates in Arabic. The local police have a guide in Arabic.

Zakopane is transforming from a seasonal town into a global destination, driven by the vision of a new generation of travelers seeking unique experiences away from the hustle and bustle of big cities.

So what makes a small city in Poland achieve such overwhelming success in capturing the hearts of Gulf citizens? And will this story continue to grow and flourish?
