Dubai, UAE – The confrontation between United and Shabab Al-Ahly ended in a positive draw 1-1, in the match that was held this Thursday evening at Al Maktoum Stadium. This came as part of the fifth round of the ADNOC Professional League for the 2026-2027 season.
Al Ahli dominated the first half and were the more dangerous side in front of United’s goal, but they were unable to convert their dominance into goals.
Al Ahly’s youth team began their attempts early, after Riquelme Hernandez Rocha fired a powerful free kick in the seventh minute, which went just past the post.
Just two minutes later, Yuri Cesar Santos renewed the team’s efforts with a shot from outside the penalty area, but it went over the crossbar. Prior to that, Saeed Ezzat threatened United’s goal with a header in the 37th minute that also went over the bar.
United tried to find the net before halftime, nearly capitalizing on a corner kick. Meanwhile, Yuri Cesar squandered Al Ahli’s best chance in the final minute, his shot striking the crossbar.
Al Ahli’s youth team clearly dominated possession during the first half, with 75% compared to 25% for United.
With the start of the second half, United was able to turn the tide of the match and take the lead in the 58th minute. This happened after Al-Mahdi Mohoub took advantage of a perfect cross and turned it into the Shabab Al-Ahly net.
United almost increased their lead after just three minutes, when substitute Shafi Babika shot a ball from inside the penalty area. However, the ball went over the crossbar.
The home side continued to threaten Al Ahli’s goal. Goalkeeper Matheus also made a crucial save from Willy Semedo in the 64th minute, keeping his team’s hopes of a comeback alive.
Al Ahli managed to equalize in the 74th minute after being awarded a penalty. Saeed Ezzatallah successfully converted the penalty, bringing the game back to square one.

With this result, Shabab Al Ahli moved up to third place with 10 points, while United reached 7 points in seventh place.
