Manchester, England – Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca has announced his squad for the pre-season tour of Asia, ahead of the 2026-2027 season. The squad notably excludes Egyptian international Omar Marmoush.
Manchester City begin their Asian tour on Tuesday, heading to Hong Kong and South Korea for three friendly matches as part of their pre-season preparations.
The English team will begin their campaign against Inter Milan in Hong Kong next Saturday, before facing a K-League All-Star team, and then concluding the tour against Atlético Madrid in Seoul.
Manchester City explained in an official statement that a number of the team’s players will not participate in the Asian tour. This is due to them being given a break after their participation with their national teams in the 2026 World Cup, especially those players who reached the quarter-finals or later stages.
The club indicated that some players who were eliminated from the tournament in the round of 16 will join the camp at a later stage, but they will not be part of the delegation that left Manchester.
Omar Marmoush’s absence from the list comes after he participated with the Egyptian national team in the 2026 World Cup finals. The coaching staff preferred to give him a rest before returning to training in preparation for the new season.
