Lisbon, Portugal – Spain’s Roberto Martinez, the coach of the Portuguese national team, announced his country’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.
The 2026 World Cup will be held from June 11 to July 10 in the United States, Canada and Mexico, with 48 teams participating for the first time in the tournament’s history.
The draw resulted in Portugal being placed in Group Twelve, along with the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uzbekistan and Colombia.
The list included star Cristiano Ronaldo, who is preparing to play in the World Cup for the sixth time in his career, after participating in the 2006, 2010, 2014, 2018 and 2022 editions.
Ronaldo continues to make history at the age of 41, in what may be his last appearance in the Portuguese national team jersey at the World Cup.
The Portugal national team roster is as follows:
Goalkeepers: Diogo Costa, Jose Sa, Rui Silva, Ricardo Filho.
Defense: Diogo Dalot, Matheus Nunez, Nelson Semedo, Joao Cancelo, Nuno Mendes, Gonzalo Inacio, Renato Vega, Ruben Dias, Tomas Araujo.
Midfielders: Ruben Neves, Joao Neves, Vitinha, Bruno Fernandes, Bernardo Silva.
Forwards: Joao Felix, Trincao, Francisco Conceição, Pedro Neto, Rafael Leao, Gonçalo Guedes, Gonçalo Ramos, Cristiano Ronaldo.
