Tehran, Iran – Milad Mohammadi, the star of the Iranian national team, confirmed that all the teams participating in the 2026 World Cup have sufficient quality to compete, stressing the difficulty of the group in which his country’s team is placed.

The United States of America will host the next tournament in partnership with Mexico and Canada, from June 11 to July 19, 2026, with 48 teams participating for the first time in the history of the World Cup.

Mohammadi said, in statements carried by the Iranian newspaper Shahrār: “There is no weak team in the World Cup, and every team that qualified for the tournament deserved it, even with the increase in the number of participants”.

He added: “The teams in our group have strong capabilities, and the results of the matches cannot be predicted in advance. No team can guarantee victory or defeat before playing”.

The Iranian player indicated his thorough knowledge of his country’s opponents, emphasizing that the coaching staff will be meticulously studying all the teams in the coming period to prepare in the best possible way.

Mohammadi stressed the importance of respecting all opponents and not underestimating any team. He explained that Iran’s goal is to deliver a historic performance and try to qualify for the next round of the tournament.

He concluded his remarks by saying: “We will fight with all our might to make the Iranian people happy and raise Iran’s name high in the World Cup”.

Iran is in Group G of the World Cup, along with New Zealand, Belgium and Egypt, with the group matches to be held in the United States.
