Kigali, Rwanda – Egypt and Tunisia will face off in a highly anticipated final of the African Men’s Handball Championship, currently being held in Rwanda. The match will take place next Saturday, January 31st, in a heavyweight clash between the two North African powerhouses for the continental title.
Egypt qualified for the final after a well-deserved victory over Cape Verde in the semi-final match. The Pharaohs continued their strong performances and confirmed their readiness to claim the title.
In the other semi-final, the Tunisian national team succeeded in securing a ticket to the final match after defeating the Algerian national team, thus igniting a new classic confrontation between the two most decorated teams in the history of the tournament.
The final match carries special historical significance, as the Egyptian national team seeks to win its fourth consecutive title and retain its continental crown. It also aims to increase its tally to 10 titles, equaling Tunisia’s record for the most wins in the tournament’s history.
Meanwhile, Tunisia aims to reclaim the title and solidify its historical dominance by winning the championship for the 11th time in its history, should it triumph in the final. This would maintain its position as the most decorated team, while Egypt’s tally remains at nine titles.
A highly anticipated clash that promises excitement and competitiveness, and will give African handball fans one of the strongest tournament finals in recent years.
