Rabat, Morocco – The group stage of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations concluded on Wednesday evening with the end of the third and final round of matches, officially determining the teams that qualified for the round of 16 of the continental tournament.
Sixteen teams secured their places in the round of 16 of the 35th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, after strong and exciting competitions witnessed in the group stage.
During this stage, the first and second place winners from the six groups, along with the four best third-placed teams, qualified for the knockout stage, which is a one-off.
The round of 16 matches of the Africa Cup of Nations are scheduled to take place on January 3, 4, 5 and 6, to determine which teams will advance to the quarter-finals of the continental tournament.
