English Premier League: Liverpool stumble against Sunderland, while Arsenal overcome Brentford

Cairo, Egypt – The 14th round of the English Premier League witnessed major surprises, after Liverpool continued to waste points by drawing with Sunderland.

Meanwhile, Arsenal secured a valuable victory against Brentford, while Chelsea fell to Leeds United, and Brighton to Aston Villa.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace beat Burnley, and Nottingham Forest beat Wolverhampton.

Liverpool and Sunderland

Liverpool continued their poor run of form in the English Premier League, after drawing 1-1 with Sunderland in a match played at Anfield.

Sunderland’s goal was scored by young Moroccan Shamseddine Talbi in the 67th minute, while Liverpool equalized in the 81st minute, after a shot from Florian Wirtz hit Sunderland player Nordi Mukiele and went into the net.

The draw lifted Liverpool to 22 points in eighth place, while Sunderland came in sixth with 23 points.

Arsenal and Brentford

Arsenal secured a valuable victory against Brentford with a score of 2-0 in the match held at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal’s goals were scored by Mikel Merino and Bukayo Saka in the 11th and 90+1 minutes respectively.

The win raised Arsenal’s tally to 33 points, strengthening their lead in the English Premier League standings, while Brentford came in 13th place with 19 points.

Chelsea and Leeds United

Chelsea suffered a heavy defeat against Leeds United, losing 3-1 in the match that took place at Elland Road.

Leeds United’s three goals were scored by Jaka Puyol, Utanaka, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the 6th, 43rd, and 72nd minutes, while Chelsea’s goal was scored by Pedro Neto in the 50th minute.

The win lifted Leeds United to 17 points in 14th place, while Chelsea remained on 24 points in fourth place.

Wolverhampton vs Nottingham Forest match

Wolverhampton Wanderers fell to Nottingham Forest by a score of 1-0 in the match played at Molineux Stadium.

Nottingham Forest’s winning goal was scored by Igor Jesus in the 73rd minute.

The win lifted Nottingham Forest to 15 points in 16th place, while Wolverhampton remained in last place with two points.

Brighton and Aston Villa

Brighton achieved a resounding victory over Aston Villa with a score of (4-3), in the match that took place at the Amex Stadium.

Brighton’s goals were scored by Jan Paul van Hecke (two goals) and Pau Torres in the 9th, 29th and 83rd minutes.

Aston Villa’s four goals were scored by Ollie Watkins (two goals), Amadou Onana and Daniel Malen in the 37th, 45+8th, 61st and 78th minutes.

The win lifted Aston Villa to third place with 27 points, while Brighton came in seventh with 22 points.

Burnley and Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace managed to achieve a 1-0 victory over Burnley in the match that took place at Turf Moor stadium.

The winning goal for Crystal Palace was scored by Daniel Munoz in the 44th minute.

The win lifted Crystal Palace to 23 points in fifth place, while Burnley remained second to last with 10 points.
