Cairo, Egypt – Manchester City achieved a thrilling victory over their host Fulham, with a score of (5-4) in the match that brought them together on Tuesday, in the English Premier League 2025-26.
Manchester City met Fulham at Craven Cottage, in the 14th round of the Premier League.
Manchester City started the match strongly, with Norwegian Erling Haaland missing a clear goal opportunity in the sixth minute, after a pass from Phil Foden put him in a one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper, only for him to shoot a ball that hit the crossbar and went out for a corner kick.
Erling Haaland succeeded in putting Manchester City ahead in the 17th minute, after a cross from Doku which he met with a shot that found the back of the net.
Tiany Renders added Manchester City’s second goal in the 37th minute, after a pass from Haaland put him through on goal, and he fired a shot into the net.
Phil Foden extended City’s lead in the 44th minute, after a shot from the edge of the penalty area found the back of the net.
Fulham managed to score the first goal in the 45+2 minute, through Emile Smith Rowe after a header that found the back of the net.
Foden returned in the 48th minute to score Manchester City’s fourth goal and his second of the match, after a short shot from in front of the goal that found the back of the net.
In the 54th minute, Fulham’s Sander Berge scored an own goal, giving Manchester City their fifth goal.
Fulham came back with an exciting hat trick in the 57th, 72nd and 78th minutes respectively, through Alex Iwobi and Samuel Chukwueze (two goals).
With that result, Manchester City raised their tally to 28 points in second place, while Fulham came in 15th place with 17 points.
