Doha, Qatar – The Palestinian national team achieved a decisive victory over their host Qatar, with a score of 1-0, in the match that brought them together on Monday, as part of the Arab Cup 2025 tournament.

The Palestinian national team met Qatar at Al Bayt Stadium, as part of the opening round of the 2025 Arab Cup.

The match began strongly for both teams in the first half, but without any real danger to either goal, due to a cautious defensive approach from both sides.

In the second half, Qatar showed some attacking threat. They almost scored the first goal of the match when Sultan Al-Buraik received a low cross from the right wing into the penalty area. His shot went just wide of the left post.

The match remained a back-and-forth affair until the final minutes. Palestine snatched a last-gasp goal in the 95th minute when Qatar’s Sultan Al-Buraik inadvertently put the ball into his own net.

With that result, the Palestinian national team obtained its first three points in Group A, which also includes Qatar, Tunisia and Syria.
