Cairo, Egypt – Al Wahda of the UAE achieved a thrilling victory over their Uzbek counterpart, Nasaf Qarshi, after turning a one-goal deficit into a 2-1 win in the match that brought the two teams together this evening, as part of the AFC Champions League Elite.

Al Wahda of the UAE visited Nasaf Qarshi of Uzbekistan at the latter’s stadium, as part of the fourth round of the AFC Champions League.

Uzbekistan’s Nasaf Qarshi took the lead in the 42nd minute through Sardorbek Bahromov, who fired a powerful shot from outside the penalty area into the net of the Emirati team.

Al Wahda responded with an equalizer in the 52nd minute, after Dusan Tadic delivered a perfect cross from the left side to the head of Faifor Ogbo, who powerfully headed it into the net.

Nasaf then tried to score an equalizer, with Hussein Nurchaev playing a cross from the left side, which he headed towards the post in the 58th minute.

Al Wahda succeeded in scoring their second goal and winning after Caio Canedo followed up the rebound from goalkeeper Nematov, heading it into the net in the 89th minute.

The match remained a back-and-forth affair between the two teams, with Uzbekistan’s Nasaf making attempts to equalize, but to no avail, and it ended with Al Wahda winning 2-1.

The win raised Al Wahda’s tally to 10 points, temporarily placing them at the top of the AFC Champions League Elite standings, while Uzbekistan’s Nasaf Qarshi remained at the bottom of the standings with no points.

Nasaf Qarshi lost in the first round against Al-Ahli Saudi (2-4) in Jeddah, then in the second round against Al-Hilal Saudi (2-3) in Qarshi, and lost in the third round against Shabab Al-Ahli UAE (1-4) in Dubai.
