MADRID, Spain – Australian Jay Fine, rider for Emirates XRG, won the sixth stage of the Vuelta a España by nearly a minute.
Fine took advantage of his good knowledge of difficult race tracks to head solo towards the top and cross the finish line alone.
Thus, he achieved his third victory in his career, in the stages of the Tour.
He also continued his brilliance with the Emirates-XRG team, which achieved its 75th victory this season.
The victory came just 24 hours after the team won the team time trial in Figueres.
His teammate Felix Grosschartner contributed to strengthening the team’s position among the main competitors in the recent promotion.
The stage witnessed fierce competition between the top competitors for the overall ranking title, as Joao Almeida managed to achieve an advanced position.
