Sanaa, Yemen – Sources in Yemen reported the killing of the head of the Houthi government, Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahwi.

This was in an Israeli air strike that targeted the capital, Sanaa, which is under the control of the Iranian-backed Houthi group.

The sources, who requested anonymity, told the German News Agency: “A number of Al-Rahawi’s companions were also killed in the bombing, which came as part of a series of Israeli air strikes on Sanaa yesterday, Thursday”.

The Yemeni news portal “Aden Al-Ghad” reported that Al-Rahawi was killed along with a number of his companions after an Israeli raid targeted a residential building.

Israeli media reported that the most prominent target of the air strikes launched by Israel on Thursday evening on the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, was a meeting that included a number of the highest-ranking leaders in the Houthi group.

Israeli Channel 12 explained that Air Force planes carried out the operation, which was called “A Drop of Luck”.

Its strikes also focused on a meeting that included 10 senior Houthi leaders, including the group’s chief of staff.

She pointed out that the results of the attack, which coincided with a speech by Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, are still under examination.

She indicated that the Israeli Air Force launched more than 10 raids throughout the city of Sanaa.

Meanwhile, Israel confirmed that it targeted leaders at the political level of the Houthis.

Local sources said: “Israel’s appreciation for targeting the Houthi Chief of Staff and their Minister of Defense in the attack has increased”.

According to an Israeli official, the assassinations were planned since the beginning of the week as part of the previous round of attacks and were not carried out until today.
