Washington, DC – US President Donald Trump called for a halt to all attacks against Israel by any party, including Hezbollah.
This came as part of diplomatic efforts to contain the ongoing escalation in the Middle East.
He also confirmed that the anticipated peace agreement would include Lebanon within a broader regional de-escalation arrangement.
Stop the military escalation
Trump stressed the need for all parties to commit to halting military actions immediately,
warning that continued attacks would undermine the chances of reaching a comprehensive political settlement.
At a time when the region is witnessing escalating tension on more than one front.
Agreement includes Lebanon
President Trump clarified that the agreement currently being worked on will not be limited to one party, but will also include Lebanon.
Lebanon is considered part of the security and political arrangements aimed at restoring stability to Israel’s northern border.
These arrangements also aim to contain any spillover of the conflict.
A call for a comprehensive ceasefire
Trump added that the current phase requires a full commitment to de-escalation from all regional parties,
with the necessity of avoiding any escalatory steps that could lead to a wider conflict.
He also affirmed that Washington continues its efforts with its partners
to ensure the success of the peace process and prevent the situation from deteriorating further.
