“The Sudden Shift”: Musk Praises Anthropic’s Team After Harsh Criticism
This deal follows months of scathing criticism from Musk, who previously claimed Anthropic “hates Western civilization.” The situation saw a major pivot when Musk stated on X that he spent time with the company’s senior team and was “impressed” by their competence, emphasizing they care about “doing the right thing.” Simultaneously, Musk announced that xAI will be dissolved as a separate entity and officially rebranded as SpaceXAI, consolidating his space and AI ventures under one roof.
“Infrastructure Crisis”: Anthropic Races to Boost Claude Services
Anthropic has faced immense strain on its infrastructure due to surging demand for Claude models, which impacted reliability and performance. The SpaceX deal will immediately provide over 300 megawatts of capacity, directly benefiting Claude Pro and Claude Max subscribers. As Anthropic navigates ongoing litigation with the U.S. government over its “supply chain risk” status, its new alliance with Musk provides significant momentum as it seeks a valuation of $900 billion.
