Washington, DC – US authorities have issued an emergency order prohibiting Tesla car doors from opening. This comes after several incidents involving the electric vehicle’s doors were reported, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Authorities said initial investigations revealed a design flaw in the doors. This flaw could lead to serious injuries to users, especially when attempting to open them while the vehicle is stationary or passengers are moving inside.

The department explained that the problem worsened after some car owners ignored warnings about placing warning signs on the doors. This contributed to the increase in accidents.

The manufacturer stated that the decision is temporary and that it will work on modifying the software and door design to ensure passenger safety. It also affirmed its full commitment to safety procedures approved in the United States.

Tesla also urged its car owners to avoid forcibly opening the doors and to use the company’s recommended alternative methods until the problem is resolved. The company warned that ignoring these warnings could lead to legal consequences.

This move comes after several separate incidents involving Tesla vehicles in the United States in recent months. These incidents were caused by the sudden opening of doors, prompting authorities to act quickly before human and material losses could escalate.
