Shenzhen, China – A Chinese city has seen a remarkable trial of an AI-powered robot to manage traffic on busy streets. This move comes as part of the rapidly expanding adoption of smart solutions for city management.

According to videos circulating on social media, the robot was seen moving through major intersections, emitting visual and audible signals. Its purpose was to regulate the crossing of vehicles and pedestrians, and it elicited widespread interaction from both pedestrians and drivers.

The robot relies on advanced sensor systems and high-resolution cameras. These devices are supported by intelligent algorithms, enabling it to analyze traffic flow in real time. It can also intervene quickly to alleviate traffic congestion.

Local officials explained that this experiment is part of a larger project. The goal is to transform cities into “smart cities” that rely on automation and artificial intelligence. This will help manage vital facilities and reduce accidents and traffic congestion.

Experts believe this move could pave the way for wider use of smart robots in traffic management in the future, especially in densely populated cities.
