Voice of the Emirates – In recent months, warnings from technology and mental health experts have intensified regarding the potential negative effects of intensive use of AI-powered chat applications. This comes amid reports of mental exhaustion and a growing sense of isolation among some users.

Experts have stated that prolonged immersion in digital conversations, especially with advanced interactive systems, can create an unhealthy psychological dependence in some individuals. This can lead to sleep disturbances, difficulty concentrating, and a decline in real-life social interaction.

Digital behavior monitoring centers indicate that a number of users have reported psychological distress related to unrealistic expectations from these tools. They have also reported excessive use exceeding the recommended daily hours.

Experts believe the problem lies not so much in the technologies themselves, but in how they are used. Therefore, they emphasize the need to raise awareness about balanced usage and to establish guidelines that limit excessive reliance on digital services. These services may simulate human emotions, but they are not a true substitute for real-life relationships.
