Details of the mountain explosion site west of Sana’a
According to local reports and corroborating Yemeni sources, the explosion occurred inside a fortified mountain cave in the Al-Haymah Al-Kharijiyah district. Specifically, it took place in the Al-Zun area. This area is geographically located between the Manakhah and Al-Haymah districts of Sana’a Governorate. The sources explained that the targeted site is situated near a network of secret mountain tunnels previously constructed by the Houthi militia. The group primarily uses these tunnels to store strategic weapons and prepare missiles and drones. They also use them as a military training center for recruits. The massive explosion caused widespread panic and led to the complete closure of the main road connecting vital areas. Consequently, this resulted in traffic disruptions for several hours.
Security cordon and heightened alert in Sana’a hospitals
Immediately following the explosion, the Houthi militia imposed a tight security and military cordon around the affected site. They also prevented any approach by civilians or media. The group also quickly dispatched a large number of ambulances and fire trucks to the scene.
