Kyiv, Ukraine – The Russian-Ukrainian war has seen a significant military escalation on various fronts. This coincided with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s announcement of an unprecedented wave of Russian drone attacks. Simultaneously, a Ukrainian missile strike targeting the Russian border city of Belgorod resulted in casualties and widespread material damage.

Ukrainian shelling hits infrastructure and logistics in Belgorod

In the field, the acting governor of Belgorod Oblast, Alexander Shuvayev, announced that a Ukrainian missile attack killed two people and injured 16 others after targeting a commercial facility and setting fire to seven warehouses in the city. The online retailer Ozone confirmed that one of its logistics and sorting centers was targeted, resulting in a large fire. According to military reports, the strikes hit at least five facilities belonging to the Belgorod Thermal Power Plant, a government warehouse, and industrial facilities. Furthermore, the local television tower was also damaged. These strikes are part of a broader Ukrainian strategy to undermine Russian logistics infrastructure. The Ukrinform news agency reported that Ukrainian defense forces also targeted the Kryvyi Rih oil refinery, a drone launch site, and Yeysk Airport.

Zelensky: Russia launched 1,500 marches in four days to weaken Ukraine

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that Russian forces have escalated their attacks to an unprecedented level. He noted that Moscow launched nearly 1,500 drones of various types into Ukrainian territory in the past four days alone, including approximately 800 jet-powered drones. Zelensky explained that Russia’s current strategy focuses on exhausting Ukraine and its people through relentless attacks, emphasizing that Ukrainian fighter jets are intercepting a significant number of them. However, intercepting jet-powered drones remains the greatest challenge. In related news, Ukrainian authorities announced that the death toll from the explosion at an ammunition depot in the village of Mila, Kyiv Oblast, has risen to 52.
