Moscow, Russia – Russia has affirmed its readiness to play an active role in containing escalating tensions in the Middle East. It also stressed the need to prevent the current conflict from spiraling into a protracted war that could threaten the stability of the region and the world.

The Russian Foreign Ministry explained that Moscow is closely monitoring developments and is conducting intensive contacts with various stakeholders. This is part of an effort to de-escalate the situation and open channels for political dialogue instead of military confrontations.

The ministry emphasized that the continuation of military operations poses serious risks, not only to the countries of the region but also to the global economy and energy security. This is particularly concerning given the sensitivity of vital maritime routes.

Russia indicated its support for any international efforts aimed at de-escalation. It affirmed that diplomatic solutions remain the only option to avoid more complex scenarios whose effects could last for years.

These statements come at a time of growing international concern about the widening scope of the conflict. This comes amid warnings of repercussions that could redraw the balance of power in the Middle East.
