Cairo, Egypt – The Egyptian Ministry of State for Information, headed by Dr. Diaa Rashwan, in coordination with the Supreme Council for Media Regulation, the National Press Authority,

and the National Media Authority, issued a joint statement following a call by the Minister of State for Information.

In this statement, the Ministry affirmed its complete rejection of what it described as negative media practices

that harm the long-standing relations between Egypt and a number of sister Arab states.

Extended brotherly relations

The statement emphasized that the relations between Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, the Sultanate of Oman, the Republic of Iraq,

and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan are fraternal relations that extend to both official and popular levels.

It noted that these relations have been solidified over decades of shared history and common positions.

The statement affirmed that this makes them a fundamental pillar for protecting common Arab interests.

It clarified that any attempts to undermine these relations constitute a direct threat to Arab national interests.

It also affirmed that such attempts are morally and nationally unacceptable.

The statement called on media outlets and journalists in Egypt and the Arab countries to

immediately cease unfounded debates and refrain from escalation.

It stressed the necessity of prioritizing reason and preserving fraternal ties between the peoples.

It indicated that the current tensions are temporary and will not affect the depth of these historical relations.

Containing the crisis and preventing its escalation

The statement also called upon intellectuals and opinion leaders to play their role in containing the crisis and preventing its escalation.

In the same vein, it warned against attempts to sow discord, which are being exploited by hostile entities to spread division among Arab states.

The statement cautioned citizens against being swayed by rumors circulating on social media.

It emphasized the importance of relying solely on official statements

as a reliable source of information and avoiding the dissemination of unverified news.

In a decisive move, the statement announced that relevant authorities would immediately begin

implementing laws and regulations governing media work to ensure proper conduct.

Furthermore, any transgressions that harm the interests of the state or offend sister nations or their officials will be prohibited.

The statement also called upon relevant authorities in Arab countries to take similar measures to safeguard shared relations.

It stressed the necessity of preventing any attempts to damage these relations.

The statement concluded by emphasizing the importance of Arab unity in confronting challenges.

It also called for maintaining cohesion and solidarity among Arab peoples.
