Washington, DC – The US State Department has urged its citizens to leave Lebanon as soon as possible. It also advised American citizens to avoid travel to Lebanon due to escalating security tensions in the region.
In an official statement, the State Department explained that the security situation in Lebanon “could deteriorate without warning.” It noted that the embassy continues to monitor developments closely and is prepared to provide consular assistance to citizens.
The statement emphasized that the US government regularly reviews its travel advisories. It also urged Americans currently in Lebanon to register with the embassy and follow official warnings. Furthermore, it advised them to develop contingency plans for departure.
The warning comes at a time of escalating military tensions in the Middle East, amid concerns that the repercussions could spill over into Lebanon and impact stability and living conditions.
