Cairo, Egypt – His Excellency Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, condemned the blatant Iranian attacks targeting the territories of several Arab states. He described these attacks as a flagrant violation of international law and an unacceptable infringement on the sovereignty of the targeted countries.
Arab national security is a red line.
In a statement issued today, Al-Yamahi affirmed that Arab national security is a red line that cannot be crossed under any circumstances or pretext. He also stressed that any aggression against Arab states constitutes a direct threat to the stability of the region and the security of its people.
Solidarity and support of the Arab Parliament
The Speaker of the Arab Parliament emphasized the Arab Parliament’s full solidarity with and support for the targeted Arab states. He also affirmed its support for all measures taken by these states to protect their sovereignty and territorial integrity, and to ensure the security and stability of their people in the face of any aggression.
A call to maintain regional security
Al-Yamahi also called for intensified Arab and international efforts to contain the escalation and protect regional security. He emphasized the importance of adhering to international law and the principles of good neighborliness as a fundamental option to avoid any slide towards further tension or conflict in the region.
