Khuzestan, Iran – Iran’s judiciary announced on Saturday that it had executed six people.
She said they were members of a “terrorist” group and were convicted of launching armed attacks in Khuzestan province in the southwest of the country.
She added, “At dawn today, the death sentence was carried out against 6 terrorist separatists who committed a series of armed operations and bombings in recent years, targeting the security of Khuzestan Province”.
Iranian media reported that the defendants confessed to planning and carrying out several bloody operations.
These included the assassination of four security defenders and a bombing in the city of Khorramshahr in Khuzestan province, southwestern Iran.
She added that in addition to their role “in terrorist operations, the aforementioned elements were in contact with the Zionist entity and received support from hostile foreign parties”.
“The actions of terrorists who were executed have posed a recurring threat to the security and safety of citizens in Khuzestan in recent years,” she added.
