Islamabad, Pakistan—As part of ongoing operations to pursue armed groups, Pakistani state media reported on Monday—citing reliable security sources—that security forces successfully killed three terrorists, including a senior commander, during a precision military operation in the Mastung district of the volatile Balochistan province.
Pakistan’s official news agency and Radio Pakistan reported that security forces conducted a precision airstrike using a quadcopter drone against a military vehicle carrying terrorists. The vehicle belonged to a group the state refers to as “Fitna-e-Hind” (Strife of India)—a clear allusion to official accusations that regional actors are supporting the group and destabilizing the country. Field reports confirmed that the direct hit completely destroyed the vehicle and neutralized everyone inside with pinpoint accuracy.
At the official level, the operation was widely welcomed by political and security leaders; Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the high level of competence and outstanding professionalism demonstrated by security forces in swiftly addressing terrorist threats. In an official statement, Naqvi commended the efforts that resulted in the elimination of the commander and two of his associates.
