Tehran, Iran – An Iranian soldier was killed and another wounded on Sunday during armed clashes with an armed group in the Marivan region of Kurdistan province in western Iran.

Iranian media reported that clashes broke out during a military operation to track down armed elements active in the area.
The forces came under fire, resulting in the death of one soldier and injuries to another.
The forces subsequently regained control of the situation.
