Baghdad, Iraq – Iraqi Foreign Minister Dr. Fuad Hussein met with Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy to discuss ways to strengthen joint Arab action.
They also discussed intensifying coordination and consultation
on the most prominent regional and international issues facing the region at present.
Strengthening Arab cooperation mechanisms
Both sides emphasized the importance of continued coordination
between Iraq and the Arab League to support regional stability.
They also affirmed their commitment to strengthening Arab cooperation
mechanisms to address political, security, and economic challenges.
Furthermore, they expressed their support for efforts to resolve crises through dialogue and diplomatic means.
The Iraqi Foreign Minister stressed his country’s keenness to enhance its role in joint Arab action.
He also affirmed Iraq’s commitment to contributing to bridging differences among Arab states in
a way that serves common interests and preserves the security and stability of the region.
Supporting Arab causes
For his part, the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States praised Iraq’s role in supporting Arab causes.
He emphasized the importance of continued coordination between the two sides in the coming period,
especially given the rapid developments in the region.
This strengthens the unified Arab position on various regional issues.
