Under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the United Arab Emirates has launched an urgent humanitarian response through the UAE International Aid Agency to deliver relief to populations affected by severe flooding across Ghana.

Emergency Relief and Disaster Impact Mitigation

The initiative reflects the UAE’s sustained commitment to extending humanitarian relief to nations impacted by natural disasters. The aid package focuses on delivering essential food supplies and emergency shelter materials to alleviate the living conditions of displaced populations.

Official damage assessments indicate that the floods impacted 131,825 individuals across 21,367 families, displaced 38,651 residents, and resulted in 45 casualties, prompting rapid mobilization from Emirati humanitarian entities.

Field Coordination and Sustained Humanitarian Solidarity

Dr. Tariq Ahmed Al Aameri, Chairman of the UAE International Aid Agency, stated that the UAE continues its global humanitarian mission by deploying rapid assistance during crisis scenarios. He noted that agency teams are coordinating with local Ghanaian partners to ensure relief items reach those most in need.

Al Aameri added that field operations prioritize food security, temporary shelter, and supporting Ghanaian authorities in accelerating early recovery efforts, reaffirming the UAE’s solidary with the government and people of Ghana.

The UAE’s swift intervention in Ghana highlights Abu Dhabi’s committed approach to international disaster response, delivering targeted aid and shelter to vulnerable communities affected by natural disasters.
