  • A large-scale military escalation and reciprocal attacks in the region

  • US airstrikes continue for the twelfth night

Manama, Bahrain – The Bahraini Ministry of Interior announced the sounding of sirens across the country as a precautionary measure reflecting escalating security tensions in the region. In an official statement published on its X platform, the Ministry urged all citizens and residents to immediately seek shelter at the nearest safe location. It also stressed the importance of following developments and news exclusively through official channels to ensure public safety amid concerns about the potential expansion of regional military confrontations.

A large-scale military escalation and reciprocal attacks in the region

The sounding of air raid sirens in Bahrain coincided with rapidly escalating military developments. The United States launched new strikes against Iran on Wednesday night, prompting Iran to announce a military response targeting US bases in both Kuwait and Jordan.

This escalation came just hours after the Houthis in Yemen announced they had targeted two Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea. This was part of their threat to impose a blockade on Saudi ports, raising the specter of a new, full-scale front opening in the regional conflict.

Details of Iranian strikes on US bases

On Thursday morning, Iran announced it had launched a series of drone attacks on military sites in Kuwait and Jordan. The Iranian military, in a statement broadcast on state television, said it targeted US ammunition depots and logistics sites at Camp Doha. It also targeted fuel tanks at Ali Al Salem Air Base and an ammunition depot at Camp Arifjan in Kuwait. Earlier that morning, the Kuwaiti military announced that its air defenses had intercepted “hostile drones,” describing the attack as a “heinous Iranian aggression.” For its part, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed to have destroyed US military equipment in Jordan. This equipment included THAAD and Patriot missile defense systems, a C-RAM radar, and a helicopter hangar.

US airstrikes continue for the twelfth night

In response, the US military announced that its forces had completed the latest round of intensive strikes against Iranian targets. These strikes, launched under the direct orders of President Donald Trump, marked the twelfth consecutive night of attacks and lasted five hours. US Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that the raids targeted naval capabilities, missile and drone storage facilities, coastal surveillance sites, and air defenses. It further explained that US forces had targeted dozens of Iranian military sites on land during July. This coincided with the resumption of the naval blockade imposed on Tehran.
