Abu Dhabi, UAE – The United Arab Emirates has vehemently condemned the recent Iranian attack targeting the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, emphasizing that the assault represents a flagrant and unacceptable violation of the sovereignty of both the Republic of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. Emirati diplomacy warned that such military actions pose a direct threat to regional peace and stability, pushing the Middle East toward further volatile escalations at a time when international efforts are intensely focused on de-escalating ongoing crises.
Categorical Rejection of Sovereignty Violations
In an official statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs asserted Abu Dhabi’s absolute and categorical rejection of any actions that compromise the security, independence, and territorial integrity of sovereign states. The Ministry clarified that the Iranian strike constitutes a clear breach of international law, good-neighborly principles, and the United Nations Charter, urging all regional parties to refrain from unilateral military operations that undermine ongoing peace initiatives and threaten civilian populations.
Absolute Solidarity with Iraq and Kurdistan
Furthermore, the Ministry expressed the UAE’s unwavering and unconditional solidarity with the Republic of Iraq and the Kurdistan Regional Government in confronting these security challenges. The statement reiterated Abu Dhabi’s steadfast commitment to supporting all national and regional efforts aimed at preserving Iraq’s stability, securing its borders, and defending its unity. Concluding its message, the UAE called for prioritizing reason and dialogue over military escalation, stressing that long-term regional stability can only be achieved through collective security frameworks and peaceful diplomatic solutions.
