  • Rapid response from civil defense and national emergency teams

Manama, Bahrain – Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior announced on Thursday that the kingdom was subjected to an aerial attack by drones belonging to the Islamic Republic of Iran, describing it as an “aggression” targeting civilian areas. The ministry confirmed that air defenses intercepted the attack and successfully destroyed the drones in the country’s airspace before they reached their targets.

Details of injuries and damages in Manama and Hamad Town

The ministry explained in an official statement that the interception and destruction of the drones resulted in metal fragments falling in various areas, causing minor injuries to an 11-year-old girl. Authorities confirmed that medical personnel provided the girl with necessary first aid at the scene. They also indicated that her condition is stable and not a cause for concern.

Regarding material losses, the statement indicated that falling debris from the destroyed aircraft caused fires in several private vehicles. Material damage was also inflicted on the facades and properties of a number of residential buildings in both Hamad Town and the capital, Manama. This prompted an immediate mobilization of security forces.

Rapid response from civil defense and national emergency teams

In this context, the Ministry of Interior confirmed that Civil Defense forces and national emergency teams responded immediately to the incident. They then began firefighting operations and secured the affected areas, and all necessary field procedures and preventative measures were implemented to ensure the safety of citizens and residents in the targeted regions.

This attack comes at a time of escalating security tensions in the region, and Bahraini authorities have condemned the targeting. They also affirmed the readiness of their security and defense forces to confront any threats to the Kingdom’s security and stability. Meanwhile, relevant authorities in Manama are continuing to assess the extent of the damage caused by the incident. The alert level has also been raised at vital installations and residential areas to ensure the maintenance of civil peace and the protection of lives and property. This incident further heightens the sense of anticipation amidst the ongoing regional developments.
