Beirut, Lebanon – Hezbollah announced that it will not agree to any ceasefire agreement with Israel that is partial or phased.
It also stressed that any settlement must guarantee a complete and comprehensive cessation of military operations without exceptions.
Rejection of a partial ceasefire
This stance comes amid ongoing tensions on Lebanon’s southern border and an exchange of fire between the two sides.
Furthermore, there are international and regional diplomatic efforts underway to contain the escalation.
Hezbollah reiterated its position that any proposals involving a partial ceasefire
or temporary arrangements that do not meet its conditions will be unacceptable.
Moreover, it emphasized that partial solutions do not address the root causes of the current escalation.
Requirements for a complete halt
Hezbollah clarified that any potential agreement must guarantee a complete cessation of Israeli military operations.
Furthermore, it stipulated the provision of clear guarantees against a return to escalation, thus achieving what it termed “genuine stability.”
This statement comes as clashes continue along Lebanon’s southern border. In the same context, military operations are escalating,
with Hezbollah and the Israeli army exchanging fire, amid international concerns about a wider conflict in the region.
