Kyiv, Ukraine – The Russian Defense Ministry announced that its forces conducted a military operation targeting a Ukrainian army ammunition depot in the Sumy region of northeastern Ukraine, near the Russian border. This operation falls under what Moscow describes as targeted strikes against Ukrainian military and logistical infrastructure in combat zones.
The ministry stated that the strike followed the detection of military movements and supplies at the site. It added that the depot was used to store ammunition and military equipment intended for Ukrainian forces on the front lines.
She added that the operation resulted in the complete destruction of the facility, without providing precise details about the extent of the losses or the type of ammunition stored inside. Ukraine has yet to issue an official statement regarding the Russian announcement.
Military operations continue between Moscow and Kyiv on several fronts. The Sumy region, located near the contact line in northeastern Ukraine, frequently experiences strikes and clashes.
