Beirut, Lebanon – The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that the death toll from Israeli airstrikes on Lebanese territory since March 2 has risen to 3,371.
This comes amid continued military escalation in various parts of the country.
The death toll has risen
The Ministry of Health explained that the recorded figures reflect a sharp increase in the death toll in recent days.
This is due to the intensification of airstrikes targeting towns and villages in the south and the Bekaa Valley,
which also resulted in a large number of injuries.
According to medical and security sources, the Israeli strikes focused on areas in southern and eastern Lebanon,
particularly in the districts of Nabatieh, Tyre, and the Bekaa Valley.
The airstrikes targeted residential areas and open spaces, causing widespread human and material losses.
Increasing pressure on the health sector
Medical sources have warned that the continuation of military operations poses significant challenges to Lebanon healthcare sector.
This comes amid a rising number of casualties and shortages of medical supplies and fuel, threatening the ability of hospitals to respond.
The sources confirmed that many health centers are operating beyond their capacity.
Meanwhile, displacement towards safer areas is increasing,
while international calls continue for a de-escalation and to prevent further humanitarian deterioration.
