Amman, Jordan – The Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army announced on Tuesday that the Northern Military Region thwarted an infiltration attempt on Monday by an individual who tried to cross the Jordanian border illegally from a neighboring country into Jordanian territory.
A responsible military source at the General Command of the Armed Forces confirmed that border guards from the Northern Military Region detected the infiltrator as soon as he approached the border. They immediately applied the rules of engagement applicable in such cases, successfully apprehending him without any injuries. The source indicated that the apprehended individual was transferred to the relevant authorities to take the necessary legal measures against him. He was also interrogated, according to Petra News Agency.
This operation comes as part of the intensive and ongoing efforts of the Jordanian Armed Forces to protect the Kingdom’s borders and prevent any infiltration or smuggling attempts.
