Ramallah – Palestine: The Fatah movement stated that the Gaza Strip is welcoming Eid Al-Adha for the third consecutive year under difficult humanitarian and living conditions, noting that the repercussions of the current situation and the continuous blockade have cast a shadow over Eid festivities and the lives of the population inside the Strip.
The movement explained that thousands of families in Gaza are facing worsening economic and living challenges that have directly affected the details of daily life, including preparations associated with the Eid Al-Adha season, amidst a decline in purchasing power and difficulties related to providing basic needs.
Escalating Humanitarian Challenges Impacting Hajj Rituals and the Sacrificial Season
It added that the current conditions have also reflected on many aspects related to the Hajj season, the sacrificial animals (Udhiyah), and the rituals associated with Eid, in light of what it described as growing humanitarian challenges that have affected various segments of society within the Strip.
Decline of Traditional Festivities and International Calls to Strengthen Relief Efforts
The movement emphasized that the continuation of current conditions has led to a decline in many traditional festivities that residents used to practice during Eid Al-Adha, at a time when the humanitarian needs of affected families are increasing, especially with the economic and service pressures facing the Strip.
These statements come amid ongoing international monitoring of the humanitarian situation in Gaza, where international organizations repeatedly warn of deteriorating living and humanitarian conditions, calling for enhanced relief efforts and the provision of necessary support for the population during the coming period.
