Kabul – Afghanistan: The “Afghanistan Liberation Front” announced the execution of a rocket attack targeting a military site affiliated with the Taliban movement within the vicinity of the military airport in the capital, Kabul, confirming that the operation was carried out in a “coordinated and precise manner” and targeted a base used for military and training purposes.
The front stated, in a statement, that the attack occurred at approximately ten o’clock on Wednesday evening, targeting a site that includes, according to its description, weapons depots and training facilities for Taliban elements, noting that the operation came within a series of attacks targeting military positions inside the country.
Details of the Announced Operation and the Outbreak of a Fire Within the Military Site
It added that the targeting led to the outbreak of a fire inside the site, without providing precise details regarding the volume of human or material losses, confirming that the final results of the operation are still undergoing verification and monitoring.
Absence of an Official Narrative and Continuance of Field Escalation in Afghanistan
Neither the Taliban movement nor the Afghan authorities issued any official statement clarifying the circumstances of the incident or confirming the extent of damage resulting from the attack, at a time when ambiguity shrouds the details of what transpired inside the targeted site. This development comes in light of ongoing security tensions in Afghanistan, with sporadic attacks recorded by opposition groups targeting sites belonging to the existing authorities.
The “Afghan Front” emphasized in its statement that its elements did not sustain any losses during the operation, pointing out that similar attacks will continue in other regions of the country over the coming period. It added that its operations come within what it described as an “armed resistance” against the Taliban movement, amid the escalation of irregular military activities within a number of Afghan provinces.
This development reflects the continuation of the state of security instability in Afghanistan, with increasing tension between the ruling forces and armed opposition groups, amidst the total absence of a comprehensive political settlement so far.
