Washington – United States: The “Axios” website quoted informed sources stating that Pakistan and Qatar have drafted a revised peace memorandum, with the participation of other regional mediators, as part of diplomatic efforts aimed at aligning perspectives between the United States and Iran and preparing the ground for more stable negotiations.
According to the sources, the new document seeks to establish an initial framework for de-escalation and open direct or indirect negotiation channels between Washington and Tehran, through a multilateral mechanism that includes regional countries active in mediation.
Multilateral Diplomatic Maneuvers to Provide a Common Formula
Reports explained that the initiative came as a result of intensive contacts among regional parties concerned with security and stability in the region, as these countries work to narrow the gaps of disagreement between the American and Iranian sides, providing a common formula that can be built upon in subsequent talks.
“Axios” pointed out that the memorandum includes general proposals related to guaranteeing regional security, reducing maritime tensions, and fostering a suitable environment for broader political negotiations on outstanding files.
The Role of Regional Mediation and International Anticipation of the Negotiation Track
Both Qatar and Pakistan are playing an increasing role in diplomatic mediation efforts in the region, capitalising on their balanced relations with various parties, which allows them to contribute to bridging views on sensitive files.
These developments come amidst escalating international interest in the Iranian file, with accelerating movements to avert any potential military confrontation and push the parties toward gradual political solutions.
Several capitals are monitoring these initiatives closely, awaiting whether they will succeed in opening a new negotiation path that eases the severity of tension in the Middle East and influences the stability of global energy markets.
