Continuous airstrikes in southern Lebanon
Several towns in the Tyre district witnessed airstrikes and heavy shelling in recent hours, resulting in civilian casualties and damage to property and infrastructure.
This comes amid escalating clashes along the Lebanese-Israeli border. Meanwhile, international warnings are mounting about the potential for the conflict to widen and the humanitarian situation to worsen.
Fears of a worsening humanitarian crisis
Lebanese medical and relief teams are continuing their efforts to cope with the influx of wounded. This comes at a time when hospitals and health facilities are under increasing pressure due to the ongoing military operations.
The United Nations had previously called for the utilization of the existing negotiating track between Lebanon and Israel to reach a ceasefire and de-escalation. The organization also stressed the need to protect civilians and adhere to international humanitarian law.
