Moscow, Russia – The Kremlin announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin is preparing to visit China “very soon.” This visit reflects the continued strategic rapprochement between Moscow and Beijing amidst the rapidly changing international landscape.
The Kremlin spokesman explained that preparations for the visit are in their final stages.
He indicated that the anticipated meeting between the Russian president and his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping,
will address a number of political, economic, and military issues of mutual interest.
In addition, the meeting will also discuss developments in the international and regional situations.
Expanding the strategic partnership
The anticipated visit comes amid strengthening cooperation between Russia and China in recent years,
particularly in the areas of energy, trade, and political coordination. Both countries seek to expand their strategic partnership in the face of Western pressure and economic sanctions imposed on Moscow.
Observers believe the visit carries significant political dimensions,
especially given the escalating global tensions related to the war in Ukraine and the growing rivalry between China and the United States.
This compels Moscow and Beijing to enhance their joint coordination within international forums.
Economic cooperation between the two countries
The upcoming talks are also expected to address economic cooperation and trade
between the two countries, following a significant increase in bilateral trade volume recently.
In addition, energy and infrastructure projects, as well as technological cooperation, will be discussed.
Moscow and Beijing repeatedly emphasize that their relationship is based on a “comprehensive strategic partnership.”
Analysts consider the growing rapprochement between the two sides to be a defining feature of the new international balance of power.
