Kuwait – The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Iranian ambassador to Kuwait and presented him with a protest note regarding the infiltration of Kuwaiti territory
by an armed group from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard onto Bubiyan Island.
Protest memo
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs, represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Hamad Suleiman Al-Mashaan,
issued a statement summoning Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Tutunji to Kuwait.
The statement indicated that a protest note was delivered following the infiltration of Bubiyan Island
by an armed group of Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps members, which resulted in a clash with Kuwaiti armed forces.
A blatant violation of state sovereignty
The Deputy Foreign Minister reiterated the State of Kuwait’s strong condemnation of this hostile act.
He demanded that Iran immediately and unconditionally cease such actions, holding it fully responsible
for this blatant violation of the State’s sovereignty and a grave breach of international law,
the UN Charter, and Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026).
Al-Mishaan also emphasized the State of Kuwait’s full right to self-defense, in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter.
Therefore, Kuwait will take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty and the security of its people and residents.
