Tel Aviv, Israel – The Israeli military announced in an official statement today that three members of the Lebanese group Hezbollah were killed in a precision airstrike carried out by the Israeli Air Force in southern Lebanon.

This operation was part of a series of attacks targeting what the military described as the group’s “terrorist infrastructure.” It occurred amidst escalating border tensions between the two sides.

An Israeli military spokesperson explained that forces from the 146th Division detected movements of three individuals who were in the final stages of preparing to launch rockets toward Israeli positions.

Upon detection, warplanes intervened and directly targeted the location. This resulted in the deaths of the three individuals and the destruction of their equipment.

Targeting warehouses and launch platforms

The latest wave of Israeli airstrikes targeted strategic sites across southern Lebanon. These included armed rocket launchers ready for immediate fire, as well as military equipment depots and operational buildings.

The statement asserted that these sites were being used to plan and execute attacks against civilians. It also noted that Israeli forces deployed along the Blue Line were among the targets.

Hezbollah responded with drone attacks.

In response, Hezbollah continued its retaliatory operations, launching several suicide attacks using attack drones targeting Israeli army positions in southern Lebanon.

Israeli military sources confirmed that one soldier sustained minor injuries in one of these attacks. They also indicated that air defense systems intercepted some of the drones, while others crashed in open areas.

Tel Aviv’s stance on the continuation of operations

The Israeli army emphasized in its concluding statement that these operations are being carried out under direct orders from the “political hierarchy” in Tel Aviv. The objective is to secure the return of residents of the north and ensure border stability.

The army affirmed its determination to continue “dismantling Hezbollah’s military capabilities” and to confront any imminent threat targeting the Israeli heartland. Meanwhile, international parties have warned that the continuation of this pattern of direct confrontations could drag the region into a full-scale war with unpredictable consequences.
