  • Fire at BAPCO facilities; Civil Defense intervenes

Manama, Bahrain – The Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported fires at major industrial and oil facilities in the kingdom. This followed attacks by Iranian drones targeting operational units and strategic storage tanks.

Bahraini authorities confirmed that emergency and civil defense teams responded immediately to the incidents, preventing any casualties.

Targeting the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC)

Official reports indicated that the drone attack targeted several operational units belonging to the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC).

Immediately after the explosions, fire and emergency teams rushed to the site to control the blaze and prevent its spread to adjacent units.

The company confirmed in an initial statement that the situation was now completely under control. It also emphasized that no injuries were reported among workers or technical staff. Meanwhile, specialized teams began assessing the extent of the material damage to the production lines.

Fire at BAPCO facilities; Civil Defense intervenes

Simultaneously, Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) announced a fire at one of its storage tanks. This followed a similar Iranian attack. The company stated that its firefighting teams successfully extinguished the blaze in record time. It also confirmed that a comprehensive damage assessment has begun to ensure that supply chains and key refinery operations remain unaffected.

For its part, the Bahraini Ministry of Interior stated that the Civil Defense had taken all necessary precautions to control the fires and secure the affected sites. The Ministry emphasized that security at vital installations is under close monitoring. The alert level has also been raised to ensure the safety of personnel and facilities.

This escalation comes at a time of heightened geopolitical tensions in the region, posing new challenges to global energy security.

While Bahrain continues its efforts to secure its internal front and strategic industries, the international community is awaiting diplomatic and security responses to this direct targeting of vital economic facilities in Manama. This occurs amidst calls for the protection of waterways and industrial facilities from cross-border drone attacks.
