Amman, Jordan – The Jordanian Armed Forces announced the interception and destruction of four Iranian ballistic missiles targeting the Kingdom’s territory in the past 24 hours.
They confirmed the Royal Jordanian Air Force’s successful and efficient handling of the threats, with no casualties reported.
It is worth noting that the missiles posed a direct threat to national security.
Missile interception
The Military Media Directorate confirmed that the Royal Jordanian Air Force detected the missiles immediately
upon their entry into Jordanian airspace, before intercepting and completely destroying them.
This comes as part of ongoing air defense measures to protect Jordanian airspace.
The Directorate indicated that the operations were conducted in accordance
with established rules of engagement and in coordination with the relevant security authorities.
This aims to ensure the safety of citizens and vital infrastructure. In this context,
the relevant agencies continue to respond to any potential missile threats to the Kingdom.
Reports and shrapnel, no injuries
For its part, the Public Security Directorate explained that it dealt with 17 reports
during the same period concerning falling shrapnel and projectiles resulting from interception operations, with no injuries reported.
It added that some sites sustained minor material damage, which was addressed immediately.
Efforts are ongoing to secure the affected areas from missile debris.
Escalating Iranian attacks
This development comes amid repeated attacks targeting Jordanian territory in recent days.
The Jordanian Armed Forces had previously announced the interception of several Iranian missiles and drones,
indicating an escalation in attacks within the context of current regional tensions.
Jordanian authorities affirm their continued readiness to address any potential threats.
They emphasize that protecting the Kingdom’s security and sovereignty remains a top priority given
the ongoing escalation in the region. Missiles have recently become a focal point of regional concern.
